1. Our Services
Affordable Moving provides local and long-distance moving, packing, storage, and related services in the Greater Los Angeles area and beyond. The specific services, crew size, equipment, dates, and rates for your move are set out in your written estimate and service agreement. If anything in those documents differs from these Terms, your estimate and service agreement control.
2. Estimates and Pricing
Estimates are based on the information you give us: the items to be moved, addresses, access conditions, dates, and any additional services you request. An estimate may change if that information is incomplete or changes, including:
- items added to or removed from the inventory;
- stairs, elevators, long carries, or parking and access restrictions that were not disclosed;
- additional packing, materials, storage, or stops requested on moving day;
- changes to the date, time, or addresses of the move.

3. Booking, Rescheduling, and Cancellation
A move is confirmed once you accept the estimate and we confirm the date in writing. Deposit, rescheduling, and cancellation terms are stated in your booking confirmation. If you need to change or cancel your move, please contact us as early as possible so we can accommodate the request.
4. Your Responsibilities
To help us complete your move safely and on time, you agree to:
- provide accurate information about your belongings, addresses, and access conditions;
- arrange building access, elevator reservations, parking, and any permits required by your building or city, unless we agreed to handle them;
- be present, or have an authorized adult present, at pickup and delivery;
- pack any items you choose to pack yourself securely and label fragile items;
- keep cash, jewelry, documents, medication, and other valuables with you rather than placing them in the shipment.
5. Items We Cannot Move
For safety and legal reasons we do not transport hazardous or prohibited items, including flammable, explosive, or corrosive materials, propane tanks, firearms and ammunition, perishable food, plants, and live animals. Please ask us if you are unsure about a specific item.
6. Payment
Payment is due as described in your estimate and service agreement. Accepted payment methods and the timing of payment are confirmed at booking. Unpaid balances may delay delivery or the release of items held in storage, as permitted by law.
7. Liability and Valuation Coverage
We handle your belongings with care, and our liability for loss or damage is governed by applicable California and federal regulations and by the valuation option you select in your service agreement. Unless you choose a higher level of protection, liability is limited to the basic carrier valuation provided by law, which is based on the weight of an item rather than its actual value.
We are not responsible for damage to items packed by the customer where the container shows no external damage, for the mechanical or electronic condition of appliances and devices, or for pre-existing damage and normal wear.
8. Claims
Please inspect your belongings at delivery and note any visible loss or damage on the paperwork before the crew leaves. Claims must be submitted in writing within the time period stated in your service agreement. We will review each claim and respond in line with applicable regulations.
9. Delays
We work to arrive and deliver within the agreed window. Traffic, weather, building restrictions, mechanical issues, and other events outside our reasonable control may cause delays, and we are not liable for losses resulting from such delays.
10. Use of This Website
You may use this website to learn about our services and to request an estimate. You agree not to misuse the website, interfere with its operation, submit false information, or use automated tools to collect its content. The text, images, logos, and design of this website belong to Affordable Moving or its licensors and may not be reused without our written permission.
11. Communications
